Henbit Control
The purple blooming weed that you are seeing in your lawn this spring is called henbit. It actually germinates in the fall but is noticed in the spring. You can identify it by its square stem. Fall is the best time to control it but you can also suppress it now it now with ferti-lome weed-out or weed-free zone and control dandelion and chickweed at the same time. Remember to treat again in the fall by applying a pre-emergent in September. Or Treat with a post-emergent such as Ferti-lome weed-out or weed free zone in October.
