Identifying Black Spot on Roses
Black spot appears as black spots on yellowing leaves, usually starting on the lower foliage. Infected leaves often drop off as the disease spreads upward during warm, humid weather.
Preventing and Managing Black Spot
- Plant rose varieties that are less susceptible to black spot.
- Choose planting locations with full sun and good air circulation.
- Water at the base of the plant and avoid wetting foliage.
- Remove and dispose of infected leaves promptly.
- Apply Ferti-lome Liquid Systemic Fungicide every 10–14 days when symptoms appear.
