Glossy Abelia

Glossy Abelia has a fountain-like form with dark leaves. It is semi-evergreen, keeping its leaves in mild winters. It has bell-shaped flowers which are white with a pink cast and bloom in late summer to fall. The leaves emerge a reddish color in the spring but turn glossy green by summer. They color to bronze-purple in the fall. It can be pruned in late winter to remove old or dead stems. It has no serious disease or insect problems.
