Abelia x grandiflora ‘Kaleidoscope’
Kaleidoscope Abelia is a compact mounding shrub with bright variegated leaves. They change color throughout the year from bright yellow in the spring, to golden yellow with a green center, then finally to oranges and reds in the fall. Its stems are red and the flowers are bell-shaped and white with pink buds. It will grow in sun to part shade but have better color in full sun. It grows best in sheltered sites and can be pruned in late winter to remove old or dead stems. It has no serious disease or insect problems.
