Anemone Sylvestris produces slightly cupped white blooms with yellow centers on slender stems, reaching 12 to 18 inches in height. The leaves are bright green, deeply lobed, and add texture to the plant’s appearance. With a mounding habit, it spreads slowly through rhizomes, especially in clay soils.
While it can tolerate full shade, this anemone thrives in partial shade and prefers well-drained, organically rich soils. It is deer-resistant and generally free of serious pests or diseases but can spread rapidly in loose or sandy soils.
Anemone Sylvestris is an excellent choice for woodland gardens, naturalized areas, or perennial borders, pairing beautifully with bulbs and other early-blooming plants.
