The Bald Cypress has a moderate growth rate and matures into a large pyramidal tree. This deciduous tree sheds its soft, fern-like needles in the fall after they turn a rich cinnamon color.

This tree is very tolerant of a wide range of soil types, including clay and extremely wet soil but is still moderately drought tolerant.
