This shrub is grown for its carefree nature and colorful foliage. It grows to around 5 feet tall and wide and has very dense branching. The foliage is burgundy much of the year but, new foliage is spotted with light pink or red in the summer. It will tolerate a wide variety of soils. Bright red berries appear in the fall and attract birds.

Rose Blow Barberries are very adaptable and will grow in sun to part shade although it will have the best color in full sun.

This plant can be used as an accent, foundation plant, or as a screen where its thorns will prove useful.
