Otto Luyken cherry laurel is grown for its large, shiny, evergreen leaves and white blossoms. Its blossoms are fragrant white spikes and appear in the spring; its leaves are oval and extremely glossy.
This shrub spreads wider than tall and is very compact, and works well as a foundation plant or low hedge. It prefers part sun to full shade and moist, well-drained soil. It will not tolerate waterlogged soil.
