This cherry tree has an excellent weeping form and fragrant pink blooms in early spring.  The leaves emerge afterward and are dark green in the summer, turning yellow to gold in the fall.  The smooth, reddish bark is also aesthetically pleasing.  It can tolerate light shade but prefers full sun.  It prefers evenly moist soil but cannot tolerate wet sites.

This cherry works well as a medium accent tree in the landscape, where its weeping form will add dimension.
