One of the Romance series bush cherries, Romeo cherries, are dark red, medium-sized cherries. They are tart cherry crosses, bred to be bush-sized, between 6 and 8 feet tall and wide. The shrubs produce very well; their cherries taste sweeter than their North Star parent. While they can be eaten fresh, they work well for juice and cooking. They ripen from July to August.

The bush cherries can be grown in an orchard or as part of the landscape since they are attractive bushes that bloom white in the spring and then have dark, glossy green leaves. The Romeo Cherry Bush is fairly disease-resistant but is not maintenance-free and has requirements similar to those of other sour cherries.
