This mounding perennial is grown for its foliage and works well in partial shade areas. It has purple, wavy leaves that keep their color throughout the summer. It also has airy white blooms that open on a stalk above the plant in spring. It forms a mound of leaves that are semi-evergreen in milder winters.
This plant doesn’t have any serious pest or disease problems in our area but performs best if mulched in the winter. It won the 1991 Perennial Plant of the Year
