This shrub is a low growing and spreading. Its small green leaves are semi-evergreen, sometimes persisting into the winter and often turning gold to orange-red in the fall. Small flowers in the spring are followed by red, cranberry-like berries that persist into the winter. It works well as a groundcover.
It prefers full sun to part shade and will tolerate a wide variety of soils. It does not have any serious pest or disease problems.
