Candymint Crabapple has a burst of dark red buds that open pink edged in red in spring. Its leaves emerge purple and turn dark green throughout the summer. Small purple fruit persists through fall. This tree has It has a spreading habit and grows 8 to 10 feet tall and 12 to 15 feet wide. It works well as an accent plant. It is fairly disease resistant and prefers full sun. It will adapt to a wide range of soils and is somewhat drought tolerant.
