Candymint Sargent Crabapple has a burst of dark red buds that open pink-edged in red in spring. Its leaves emerge purple and turn dark green throughout the summer. Small purple fruit persists through fall. This tree has a spreading habit and grows 8 to 10 feet tall and 12 to 15 feet wide. It works well as an accent plant.

Candymint is fairly disease-resistant and prefers full sun. It will adapt to a wide range of soils and is somewhat drought-tolerant.
