The Firebird® Crabapple is a charming ornamental tree prized for its petite size, stunning blooms, and decorative fall fruit. A compact descendant of the Sargent Crabapple, it reaches about 8 feet in height and spreads up to 10 feet wide. In early spring, the tree bursts into bloom with pink buds that open to fragrant, pure white flowers, creating a striking display.

Its dark green foliage transitions to yellow in the fall, complementing the small, cherry-red fruit that persists into winter. These fruits add visual interest to the landscape and provide a food source for birds. With its naturally horizontal branching, the tree develops a shape that is wider than it is tall, making it an excellent choice for limited spaces.

Firebird Crabapples thrive in full sun with well-drained soil and adapt well to various pH levels and urban environments. They are drought tolerant once established and highly resistant to diseases, with only minor pest concerns that typically do not impact their health. This crabapple is a versatile addition to landscapes, serving beautifully as an accent tree, fitting perfectly under powerlines, or adding dimension when paired with larger trees.
