This shrub has one of the most stunning flower displays of late summer. It has arching branches and does not grow as a tree in our zone, although it will grow larger in sheltered sites. It has pure white, ruffly flowers, dark green foliage, and interesting exfoliating bark. It can be pruned in late winter to maintain a tidy appearance.
It is excellent as a buffer hedge, as a foundation plant, or as an accent plant. This shrub blooms best in full sun and is heat and drought tolerant, but is intolerant of wet soils.
