This easy-to-grow perennial blooms light purple with a yellow throat in early summer.  Its ruffly blossoms and borne well above the foliage.  It has grass-like leaf blades that are full and dark green.  It will rebloom until frost if spent blossoms are removed.  It is a short plant that will work well in borders and mixed perennial gardens.  This plant is drought tolerant but will perform better if it has some watering in dry periods.

It prefers full sun, although it will grow in part shade and will tolerate a wide variety of soils.  It does not have any serious pest or disease problems.
