This broad-leaved shrub is generally an evergreen.  It is grown for its attractive, green, very dense foliage.  It is very upright and works well as an accent or foundation planting where more vertical plants are needed.

It can tolerate full sun or partial shade and handle a range of soils except for saturated soils.
