This shade-loving perennial is grown for its larger, upright, deeply cut leaves. The large fronds are rich green with a bright red vein. It works well in shade gardens and as a foundation plant in moist, sheltered locations.
This plant does best in sheltered locations. It grows well in part shade to full shade, although it will have better color in part shade. It prefers evenly moist soils and should not be allowed to dry out. It does not have any serious pest or disease problems.
