This small shrub is grown for its stunning early spring flower display. It is covered in golden flowers early in the spring before it leafs out, brightening the landscape. It is very short, usually only 1.5 feet tall but spreading to around 4 feet. Its green foliage is attractive throughout the growing season.
This shrub grows best in full sun to part shade but flowers best in full sun. It will tolerate a wide range of soils and some drought. Prune after flowering in the spring for a tidier appearance. It works well as a foundation plant or low hedge.
