Castle Wall Holly is a moderate size columnar evergreen that grows 5 to 8 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide at maturity. Its foliage is dark green and glossy. This male holly will pollinate other blue hollies.
Hollies prefer evenly moist soil and can’t tolerate saturated soils. They also prefer acid soils and appreciate organic matter added to the soil and mulch put on top. This holly’s leaves may scorch in the hot afternoon sun. The Castle Wall Holly works well as an upright accent or as a tall hedge.
