Eola Sapphire Hosta has large blue-green leaves. The large, showy leaves are ruffly and form a mound that can eventually grow to 2 to 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide in ideal conditions. The flowers emerge in the summer on long stalks held above the plant and are trumpet-shaped and white to light lavender.
This plant is best used in a shade garden or as a foundation planting in sheltered areas. It will have its best color in some partial shade but can grow in more shade. It grows best in moist, evenly drained soils and will perform best if watered during dry spells. This plant is fairly low maintenance overall.
