This evergreen is grown for its low profile and dark green foliage. It will mature to only 1 foot tall and grow to around 6 feet wide with time. It is very dense, and its foliage stays dark green, even in the winter.

This shrub prefers full sun and will tolerate a wide variety of soils except wet soils. Once established, it is drought tolerant. It works well as a foundation plant, a medium-sized groundcover, and erosion control on slopes.
