This evergreen is grown for its uniform green color and form. The branches are somewhat arching if not sheared off, and the overall shrub is very compact. It will grow to 4 to 6 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide but can be pruned to control size.

This shrub prefers full sun and will tolerate a wide variety of soils except for wet soils. It is drought tolerant once established. It works well as a foundation plant, a backdrop for other plantings, and commercial plantings. It can be pruned into formal shapes.
