Jane is a deciduous magnolia grown for its large, saucer-shaped pink to purple blooms that cover the tree in the spring. It is generally a multi-stemmed tree or large shrub with a rounded habit.  The large leaves are dark green and glossy. The flowers may rebloom more sparsely in the summer.

This tree prefers moist, well-drained soil and can grow in full sun to part shade. It performs better if protected from strong winds. It works well as a small accent or understory tree.
