Royal Star Magnolia is a deciduous magnolia with unique, double-petaled blooms that appear in the spring.  Dark green leaves follow the large white blossoms.  It generally grows as an upright, multi-stemmed tree or large shrub.

This tree prefers moist, well-drained soil and can grow in full sun to part shade.  It also tolerates clay soil.  It performs better if protected from strong winds.  It works well as an accent or understory tree.
