Its blooms remain attractive during the winter. This grass has a graceful arching form. It may turn reddish-brown in the winter, then fade to tan. It works well as a foundation plant or short screen. It prefers full sun to part shade but will lose its color in more shade.
This Plant will tolerate drought once established and a wide variety of soils, including heavy clay. It is low maintenance, only needing to be cut back once a year in early spring. It does not have any serious pest or disease problems in our area.
