The Japanese Coral Bark Maple is grown for its showy coral-pink bark. Each maple-shaped leaf has seven points, is light green, and turns golden in the fall. The tree can grow from 15 to 20 feet tall and wide with upright branches. Its form is upright overall. It works well as an accent tree in sheltered areas and works well as an understory tree.
This tree prefers part sun, moist, well-drained soils, and shelter from too much wind.
