The Green Mountain® Sugar Maple is a popular shade tree prized for its vibrant fall color, robust growth, and dense canopy. Its large, dark green leaves resist tattering in summer and transform into a striking mix of orange and scarlet in autumn. With a broadly pyramidal form, this tree grows moderately fast and can reach heights of 40 to 60 feet on favorable sites, eventually spreading about 40 feet wide.

This maple thrives in full to partial sun and adapts well to various soil types but does not tolerate waterlogged, salty, or excessively dry conditions. Occasional issues include aphids, borers, anthracnose, and verticillium wilt, and the leaves may scorch in dry, windy weather.
