The Shantung Maple is an excellent small to medium front yard tree, only growing to around 20 to 25 feet so it can be used under utility lines.  It has deeply cut, glossy green foliage that turns yellow to orange in the fall and occasionally has red and purple mixed in.  It is drought tolerant but intolerant of waterlogged soils.

It doesn’t have any serious insect or disease problems.
