This oak has a strongly upright, columnar form. It will grow to around 45 feet tall by 18 feet wide and is oval-shaped when mature. In the fall, its dark green foliage turns yellow to brown.
It prefers full sun and will adapt to a wide range of soils, including wet and dry soils, although it prefers moist soils. It is low maintenance and resistant to many diseases.
This tree works well as an accent or a large screen, and its regal shape can frame a view or drive when used in pairs.
