The golden raintree is a medium-sized shade tree grown for its yellow blooms that appear mid-summer. The blooms are followed by interesting, papery seed pods that resemble tan-colored Chinese lanterns. The rich green leaves are compound. They turn yellow in the fall. The tree is rounded to spreading in habit, topping out at between 20 to 30 feet tall and wide.
They prefer full sun and are drought-tolerant once established.
