The little woody redbud is grown for its petite size and purplish-pink spring blooms. This vase-shaped tree grows to 10 to 12 feet tall and not as wide. It has green-heart-shaped leaves that are slightly crinkly and change to yellow.
This tree prefers part shade to full sun and moist, well-drained soil. It cannot tolerate wet sites. It works well as a small accent or understory tree.
