Traveler Redbud is a spectacular accent for the landscape since its weeping form is eye-catching. It generally grows to 5 feet tall (although it can sometimes be trained to be taller), and the branches arch down and out to 5 to 12 feet wide. The spring flowers are lavender to pink and showy. The leaves emerge coppery red, then turn dark green and glossy.
This tree can take some drought and full sun to part shade. It cannot tolerate wet soils.
