This unusual Rose or Sharon is grown for its large, ruffled pure white flowers and narrow columnar shape. The partly double white flowers cover the plant from mid-summer through fall. This shrub has a strongly upright habit, growing only 2 to 3 feet wide but reaching 10 to 15 feet tall.
It prefers full sun for its best floral display and is drought tolerant once established, although it will appreciate some watering through the heat. Rose of Sharon have no significant pests or diseases.
White Pillar Rose of Sharon works well as upright accents in small spaces and as container plants or a thin hedge.
