Red Carpet Rose has one of the longest bloom times of any plant in our area. Unlike old-fashioned roses, it is bushy, full, and hardy. It will bloom a red to dark pink color starting in mid-spring and blooms heavily till frost, especially if old blossoms are removed.
It works very well for small foundation plantings, mixed borders, and mass plantings. Pruning this shrub in late winter will control the size and lead to a more compact plant. This shrub blooms best in full sun and will adapt to a wide variety of soils.
