May Night Salvia is an upright perennial grown for its light purple to dark green leaves and spikes of white flowers. It blooms in late spring into summer, and its flowers are trumpet-shaped. The flower spikes are upright and compact and can be cut back after they’re finished blooming to maintain a tidier appearance.
This perennial works well in rain gardens, low-maintenance areas, and mixed borders. It is somewhat drought tolerant, prefers full sun, and will grow in average to dry soils. It is intolerant of waterlogged soils. It does not have any serious pest or disease problems.
