This grass-like sedge is grown for its foliage color and is a good groundcover. It has good blue-green foliage throughout the summer. The foliage will retain its color in milder winters. It forms arching clumps that spread slowly outward. It works well as a tall ground cover and can take light foot traffic. It also works well as an edging for beds. This sedge is low maintenance, needing only a yearly pruning in late winter.
It prefers part shade to full shade and will tolerate some standing water, but it will also tolerate dry areas and drought once established. It does not have any serious pest or disease problems.
