Magic Carpet Spirea is extremely compact, only growing 1 to 2 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide.  It has excellent leaf color throughout the year.  New leaves emerge reddish, turn golden in the summer, and turn back to russet red in the fall.  It has bright pink flowers in the spring.  It works well as a groundcover or foundation plant.

This shrub prefers full sun, although it will tolerate some shade and will adapt to a variety of soils.  It doesn’t suffer from any serious disease or pest problems.
