This native shrub is covered in spikes of fragrant light pink blooms that attract pollinators in mid-summer. It grows to about 4 to 6 feet tall and 3 to 5 feet wide with a compact, round habit. The dark green leaves of this plant generally have good yellow fall color.
This shrub tolerates partial shade to full sun but does best in part shade.
It prefers evenly moist to wet soils but won’t tolerate dry soils. It works very well near patios, in shade gardens, and even along the margins of water gardens and ponds.
