Tulip Tree
Liriodendron tulipifera
This large tree is grown for its unusual leaves and straight, upright habit. Its unusually shaped leaves have 4 points and turn yellow in the fall. This tree grows quickly and can reach 50 to 60 feet in ideal conditions. It has unusual yellow and orange flowers in the early summer that are often missed because of the foliage and the height of the tree. It works well as a large shade tree in lawns or parks.
