This compact shrub keeps its dark purple foliage throughout the growing season.  It has trumpet-shaped magenta flowers in the spring and will often rebloom in the summer.

This shrub works well in a mixed border or as a foundation planting.  It needs at least 6 hours of sunlight to bloom best but prefers afternoon shade in our area.  It does not have any serious pest or disease problems.
