This small shrub spreads wider than tall while staying compact.  It has purple to bronze tinted leaves and purplish-red trumpet-shaped flowers in the spring.  It often reblooms in summer.  It works well for a mixed border or foundation planting.

It needs at least 6 hours of sunlight to bloom best, but we prefer afternoon shade in our area.  It does not have any serious pest or disease problems.
