This weigela puts on two floral shows, one in mid-spring and another in late summer, to frost. Its flowers are bright pink or lipstick red, depending on the variety. It will generally grow to 4 to 6 feet tall and wide but can be trimmed to maintain size after it blooms in the spring.
Weigelas prefer medium watering and afternoon shade in Kansas. They are rarely bothered by pests or diseases.
Sonic Bloom Weigelia works well as a foundation planting, as a specimen, or as a hedge.
