This weigela grows slightly larger than other varieties while remaining compact for landscaping.  It has profuse flowers in the spring that are trumpet-shaped and pinkish red.  It is also notable for its purple leaves throughout the growing season.

It needs at least 6 hours of sunlight to bloom best but prefers afternoon shade in our area.  It does not have any serious pest or disease problems.
