Cercis reniformis ‘Texas White’
This tree is grown for its white, pea-like flowers that cover the tree in early spring. The flowers are followed by heart-shaped glossy green foliage. The tree has a rounded, upright form, but is smaller than the Eastern or Oklahoma Redbud. It is drought tolerant and can grow in sun to part shade. It tolerates a wide variety of soils and works well as a small accent or understory tree.
