This medium shrub is attractive and very tolerant of wet sites.  It has interesting variegated foliage that emerges pink in early spring, turning white and green, then fading to mostly green as the summer progresses.  New stems are red in the fall and winter.

It is a fast-growing shrub that can be used as an accent plant or foundation planting.  It prefers full sun to part shade and has the best color when it has a little bit of afternoon protection.  It also prefers moist to wet sites, although it will tolerate drought once established.
