Color Guard Yucca is a drought-tolerant specimen that has excellent variegated leaves. Each long leaf has a gold center that turns creamy gold by midsummer. The plant’s leaves are in symmetrical rosettes. It has a spike of creamy white flowers in mid-summer that rises above the plant. The leaves are evergreen.
This specimen can grow in extremely poor soil and is drought and heat tolerant. It prefers full sun but will tolerate some shade. It does not have any serious disease or pest problems.
